A little Lunga wedding

Little Lunga Weddings are lovely and Gillian and George's was no exception. 30 of their closest friends and family gathered for a deliberately relaxed and informal weekend of laid back celebration.

George and Gillian opted to join their friends and family for dinner in our little dining room (which can actually seat 60). Everyone around one enormous antique table, with our girl/boy harris tweed chairs and baskets of bread and light streaming through the lovely window.

Our lovely grounds (and lovely guests!)

Lovely!

A storm is brewing and the sky becomes dramatically dark. But the sun still shines. That's Lunga.

Beautiful beautiful Gillian

Congratulations

And the sky gets darker

Smart girls always come prepared!

They arrived on Friday with family and friends and the sun shone and shone and shone. Supper in the pub in the evening (The Lord of the Isles) was a big success and then a relaxed start to their wedding day as the ceremony wasn't until 5 in the evening. Photographer Louise MacDonald captured the relaxed  atmosphere. The sun shone all day and stayed dry until the photographs were over and dinner began. Smoked venison salad, Barbreck lamb shanks, mash potato puddle - hearty food for family and for friends. George kindly emailed his thanks:

'Everyone commented, and still does, that the food was out of this world; excellent presentation and more importantly taste. Even the rolls at night went down a storm - the bacon was lovely... I would recommend Lunga to anyone; loads of people were asking how did we find it as it was a great location.'

Gillian and George, I cannot tell you how much all of us enjoyed your wedding. Gillian's smile lit up the weekend as much as the sun did and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
